Spare 5 Review: Is It Worth Your Time or Just Pocket Change?

Introduction

In today’s article we are reviewing Spare 5 which is an app on iOS and Android. Now this app is very very similar to Amazon Mechanical Turk which basically means it’s kind of a gig app but a micro gig app where essentially you do very small tasks and they pay you pretty much a small amount of money, pretty much pocket change, for doing those tasks. You see right here earn money in your spare time with our free web and mobile apps.

Common Complaints About Spare 5

Now one complaint I’ve been seeing from a lot of people on this program is because it’s so new there’s not a lot of jobs out there. As far as pay goes, you know a lot of these websites are the same. Mechanical Turk, Spare 5, they’re all gonna have around the same pay.

Essentially you’re gonna be getting paid pretty much pocket change for what you’re doing. It takes a long time to do and honestly I don’t really think it’s worth it unless you’re just doing it to maybe have some side money. It might be worth it but for the most part it’s kind of almost a waste of time.

Not exactly, it’s not a scam, right? This is not a scam. This app works. I mean people have been paid from it, right? It’s a real thing. But you’re really gonna spend an hour and maybe make a couple bucks. I mean is that really worth it? It depends on you.

Alternative Options to Spare 5

There are better options out there. One of my favorites is Inbox Dollars which I’ll have a link down below in the description. If you use my link to Inbox Dollars you’ll actually get a five dollar bonus. So you start, it’s a free five bucks basically, if you use my link in the description to Inbox Dollars.

Inbox Dollars is basically a paid survey website. You can make a good bit more on there than you can on here.

What Kind of Tasks Can You Expect?

But back to this website, what are the tasks like? We have a wide variety of tasks but most of them focus on deriving the meaning of or providing human insight into audio, video, and image files.

So a lot of this is identifying things or kind of highlighting things. You can see they highlighted the shirt off. Right, you could provide keywords, you could annotate images, access languages. A lot of this is just repetitive, kind of boring tasks and again you’re not getting paid a ton for it.

Final Verdict on Spare 5

Overall this app is not a scam. It does work. People have been paid through it. But it’s very similar to Amazon Mechanical Turk where you could do it and every hour you do it you might make a couple bucks. But it’s not going to be life changing money.

I think you’re better off using Inbox Dollars or doing something else in your spare time, maybe developing a website. Overall this is not a bad app.
